Fibromyalgia and the Nervous System

Course 2 of the Invisible Diseases series will review key components of fibromyalgia syndrome, and introduce the concept of central sensitization. This links fibromyalgia to other chronic pain syndromes that are mediated by the nervous system - not by the musculoskeletal system, as has been traditionally thought. Additionally we will examine fibromyalgia symptoms and the diagnostic criteria that were originally compiled strictly for research purposes, but have been widely use to determine who's in and who's out of the "fibro club."
