Unraveling the Mystery of Foot Pain » Joint Injuries in the Foot

Instructor: Ben Benjamin

Joint Injuries in the Foot

To have functional feet we need our 14 toe joints to be healthy. If the toe joints become inflamed and dysfunctional it will eventually affect the functioning of the foot and the ankle making it difficult to walk and enjoy an active life. Remember the feet and toes support the entire body, they are the foundation on which we literally stand.

One of the most common problems is an inflamed big toe joint. The toe begins to hurt and as a result we compensate when we walk.  This compensation throws off our gate so we injure our knee or our hip and back. Most people don’t know what to do when a toe becomes a little painful and decide to live with the pain. This is all to say that it’s imperative to have healthy toe joints in our feet.

In this course, Dr. Ben Benjamin discusses toe joint injuries and pain including the relevant, detailed anatomy, assessment tests, common causes and effective treatment techniques that can reduce, prevent, and eliminate toe pain.
