Unraveling the Mystery of Foot Pain » Tendon Strains of the Toes

Instructor: Ben Benjamin

Tendon Strains of the Toes

For the toes to function normally the flexor and extensor tendons of the toes have to be free of scar tissue and injury. When the dorsal or plantar surfaces of the feet feel pain or discomfort when we use our toes, it’s the tendons that are often injured. This pain can cause us to alter our gate and lead to further problems in the feet. Learning how to precisely test the tendons of each toe can quickly lead us to identify which structures have been damaged and need treatment.

In this course, Dr. Ben Benjamin discusses injuries to the flexor and extensor tendons of the toes including the relevant anatomy, assessment tests, and effective treatment techniques that can reduce, prevent, and eliminate pain emanating from the plantar and dorsal surfaces of the foot as well as pain on the surfaces of the toes.
